[Sunday 11 June]

Fairly fine today thank the Lord.

Our dugout is suffering from shell shock & is likely to fall in on the slightest provocation. They started tossing 5.9 shrapnel accross [across] at about 4.30 P.M. I was sleeping the sleep of the just & the old dugout was rocking a treat so Mac came along with a rush & yanked me out.

I forsook the dugout & dossed in the gun pit after tea but I couldn't get any rest even there as our chaps & the Huns started bombing up at the salient & we got a screen of their shrapnel in front of our trenches as a result. They kept it up for half an hour & then our artillery gave them socks.

When we knocked off they evidently had a bad attack of nerves as they started firing at all sorts of imaginary things in front of their trench much to the discomfor [?] of one of our [indecipherable] parties which was out in front.
