[Tuesday 7 March]
Up, stiff & footsore, at 6 A.M. sling tents & packed up ready to move at 8 AM. Our breakfast consisted of slabs of cold bacon with bread jam & cheese not to mention a good tin of tea so we have fared very well. It is another scorching day & we have four miles to cover
We arrived at Moaskar [Moascar] camp at 1 P.M. & were lucky enough to find our tents pitched. Things are being managed much better lately when we have to move, our transports keep up with us & there is food all ready when we finish our march.
On Sunday about 12 men were courtmarshalled [court-martialled]. They were dealt with very severely. Some men got sentences from 4 years to 12 months hard labour for refusing duty while another man 3 [?] months for cheeking an officer. They march with a ring of guards with fixed bayonets all round them. It must be jolly humiliating
Had a good yarn to Major Fitzgerald
