My dear Mother,
The house has been quite [quiet] without Uncle Walter. Our school examinations begin this week and as I am not quite up to the standard in some things I have had to work hard since I went back. Last Monday we had a holiday, and as Mrs H. Hungerford has taken a house at Enmore for six months so as to take Amy to the Dr I went out with her and Geof and helped to fix the house up and we burnt sulpher in the rooms which gave me such a headace that I have still got it. Yesterday I went out and saw them Headly [Hedley] was there and all his sisters and the maid had come there too. After the holidays Headly is going to be a day boy. I wish I [it was] midwinter holidays because then Headly [Hedley]
