My dear Mother,
Max has a tent & yesterday I went down with him to the bush near Balmoral for half the day. We put up the tent & had much fun. In the We are going down for the hole day tomorrow. On saturday evening we had acting & resiting There were ten children. As you are asking Lorna & Mardie up could I ask Max up he would bring up his tent & the fly (the tent cost [21s?] altogether) & a few blanckerts. We could pitch it just outside your room.
I was glad to see you got 11½ d for the wool. That cake you sent down was lovely. I will be a year older tomorrow morning. Our school breaks up on the 19th December & we go back on the [indecipherable] Feb. Aunt Katie said Max is a nice little boy, so will you give me an answer as he might go out some where else. I like max Allworth's sister very much
