at 7 we set out by torch light for Delft haven where we arrived to the admiration of all Ranks of people who lookd out of their doors & windows as if they had never seen a flambeau before here we met with Capt Bentink & his family who were going to Helvoet in a yatch belonging to the states.

16.   at day light we saild & by the time I got out of bed we were in the [indecipherable] a small Canal which joins the old and the new Maes [also speltn Maas] on the banks of this lies Rhoen the Estate from which Count Bentink has his title of Graef von Rhoem by 3 o'clock we anchord of Helvoet & at six with the flood we went into the River
