In our return home we passed through the wood of the Hague which the Dutch boast of as well they may there being few others I believe in the country it is indeed a very pretty one has several very good oak trees the Maison du Bois or house in the wood a Palace of the Prince of Orange stands in the middle of it we stepd [stepped] out to see it the great saloon is certainly very magnificent a very singular room the walls are painted by very good hands I think the best scene painting I have seen but the Gallery at top with a sky light picture at top is certainly very disgusting to an English Eye.
We returned to town & calld upon the young Mr. Fagel he was not at home but his wife was she receivd us in her bedchamber as is the custom here we sat till dinner then went home to our [indecipherable] Bentink where
