& tolerably built on the other end we were to embark again in a Skuyt for Rotterdam the Roof was taken so we were obligd to go into the Common part of the boat which was as full as three benches rangd lengthways could hold about half of these who were men were smoaking so that Howel ap Ris's hall when his house was on fire was not I suppose half so full of smoak as it was how Grevile & me endurd it I confess is difficult to say we had indeed a right to prevent smoaking which can only be done in a passage boat by sufferance of the passengers we however out of compassion to our smoak loving neighbours endurd as patiently as possible & at eight o'clock arrivd at Rotterdam almost like smoakd sausages.
15. at half past 9 this Mr. Mr. Manon whom we had apprisd of our coming calld upon us & carried us to see a collection of Birds Belonging to a Mr Neefelt tolerably good
