the succession seemd to be admirably managed & the whole conducted at a very small expense.
What surprised me most was that the whole was built of wood as the Gardener was not there I could not learn their methods but will go on purpose very soon.
18. This morning early we waited upon Mr. Fagel Greffier of the States in order to see his Library & pictures both of which turnd out to be moderately good & his Collection of Drawings & prints which we had not time to see, infinite. from hence we ran to the Princes Cabinet where were several pictures which Conniseurs seemd to admire one of oxen & a shepherd painted by Potter pleasd me much immensely high finished but absolute nature
From hence we went to Mr. Lyonet in order to see his Cabinet of Shells about half which we went through then ran home to dress & went to Sr [Sir] Jos Yorke who receivd us with politeness carried us about to all the foreign ministers & then to the Prince of Orange whose court was not very magnificent
