Dear Miss. Onslow
Many thanks for the information contained in your letter of the 13th. ultimo, and for the trouble which you must have taken in looking up the records of the Merino flock. The sheep I have in mind would not be sold to any of the Murrays, as they purchased them from Duncan Macfarlane, and he may not have been the original purchaser. All that is definitely known in connection with the foundation ewes of the Murray flocks is that they were some of the "Macarthur" sheep which had travelled across the Snowy Mountains in 1839, and were probably purchased just prior to that.
I trust that you will have a pleasant trip to England, and I take this opportunity of wishing you the Compliments of the Season.
Yours sincerely,
Geo. G. Sutton
