realized a profit of £60. Sterling; whereas, the Establishment had always, previously, been a source of loss. It is a public experimental Farm, for the advantage of the Duchy.

There is a flock of 1300 Sheep, of Merino race. The object has been, to obtain heavy, rather than very fine fleeces. They average 3 lbs each, and, last year, sold for 9 Thalers the 22 lbs. 1s/3d per lb.

The system of feeding and stabling, is much the same, as in other parts of Saxony, except that the Sheep are higher fed.

The losses are at the rate of about 4 per Cent, per Annum. The Increase, 90 Lambs, from 100 Ewes. These Sheep are quite as large as ours. Their Wool is very indifferent.
