arrived from Moscow, where his Father, a Native of Liege, had established a Manufactory of Woollen Cloths. He further stated, that his Father purchased the greater part of the Wool he made use of, in Germany; that very little fine Wool was grown in Russia, and that the climate, generally speaking, was so unfavourable to its production, that the quantity was not likely to increase at all, in proportion to the demand for it.

The Manufacture of fine Cloths, he said was increasing very rapidly and was fostered & encouraged by the policy of the Russian Government. From all that he had heard, he did not think Russia could grow as much fine Wool as she required.
