In Silesia, where the flocks are largest, and are kept in doors during the whole Year, they suffer great losses, from infectious disorders.
Mr Swaine knows one Nobleman, who lost nearly his whole flock last Year, from Sheep Pox.
Dr Crusius, a Landed Proprietor of great intelligence; who has considerable Estates, & flocks of Sheep, about forty miles from Leipsig, assures me, the present prices barely pay the Cultivator. 2 lbs pr fleece is an excellent average weight for a flock. The finest fleeces weigh from 14 to 24 ounces. The price of Rams varies from £5 to £100 in flocks of high reputation, but they are
