<p>[Page 46]</p><p>Socialists &ndash; one should say, Anarchists &ndash; such as [Georg] Ledebour, [Wilhelm] Dittmann etc seem to have used to their advantage. They have demanded various political reforms concerning the Prussian vote to right, the distribution of seats for the national election, etc. Although such attacks on the government during a war are to be condemned, I cannot understand why it [the government] doesn&rsquo;t grant the wishes of the masses of its own volition, you could say in recognition of all their contributions to the war effort. These reforms have been demanded for years now and can&rsquo;t be stalled much longer, probably not beyond this war.</p><p>From the viewpoint of us Germans, or one should say of any educated person, the English press has come up with the biggest joke, claiming that [Germany] is using the bodies of killed soldiers to produce fat, oils and pig feed. Such &ldquo;chemical factories&rdquo; are said to be located right behind the front. The Daily Telegraph in Sydney right away published a cartoon showing a German soldier who holds a bottle of fat while shedding tears. The caption reads: Oh my poor brother. &ndash; This story</p>
