It&rsquo;s not clear what the consequences would be; but the way the United States took sides throughout this war suggests that if it were to abandon the Monroe doctrine&rsquo;s principle of not meddling into European affairs, it would happen without much reason and as soon as America came to realise that England might be defeated and America&rsquo;s thriving business with the Allies might be endangered. Business before everything and so America&rsquo;s intervention in the war would be nothing more than a logical continuation of a business venture. If this will seriously hurt us is anybody&rsquo;s guess, because even in this aspect, it remains the land of unlimited potential. At any rate, if the United States entered the war, it would prolong it rather substantially as it would give the Allies fresh impetus and business would continue to flourish, and aside a potentially large number of casualties, so the Americans&rsquo; way of thinking goes,</p>
