Febry 1773 - Amsterdam  

Whale - Foetus of one not more than a foot Long preserved in spirits very compleat
Gryllus - with beautifull purple transparent underwings
Libella [also spelt Libelle] - whose body was near 7 inches long independent of his Thorax
Cerambyx - a very large one with chestnut colourd Elytra ridgd pretty high
Cerambyx - another large somewhat like the Parilio Priamus specimen with antennae by which they rather appeard to be the Phalana tribe I almost was inclind to think however that they were artificial besides these he had a collection of Corals &c by no means to be despisd one sponge hollow branchd as thick as a mans wrist & 3 feet long his minerals were also fine many silver ones & much of a Kind of Cinnabar lying in Iron stone which I had not seen before.  At half past 2 we went to dinner at Mrs Bareels who had askd many people to dine with us from there at 5 we went to the
