March 1773 - Passage home

17.  This day was spent in walking about & wishing for a fair wind watching the rising of a Bank of Clouds from the North without having any hopes given us by the seamen.

18.   the Bank brough us a Northerly wind at 2 this morn so at nine we embarkd & stood out with a very slight breeze by 12 we were all sick & soon after it fell calm.

19.   at 2 this morn we got a small breeze at SW & at 4 made the land but the wind was so slack that we had no hopes of getting ashore that night so we were obligd tho very much against our inclination to take up our Lodging in the stinking pacquet once more.

20.   at 12 this morn we arrivd at Harwich not a little tird with our tedious passage.  in the Evening the weather being fine & myself rather inclind to rest than pursue my journey we went over to see Landguard Fort a place of very
