Hay is stuffed in pretty hard this I suppose prevents the heat from getting out as well as the cold from getting in at least this I know that they are heated with a much smaller quantity of fire than ours & at this time peaches were set large as nutmegs.

about 12 at night I went to a Ridotto which was given at the Play house which was prepared exactly as the opera house is at London here was the Prince & Princess of Orange the Latter of which dancd but the assembly was so thin that I beleive they never raisd 20 couples.

10.  went this morn to see Mr Reygners a man of Fashion one of the Chamberlains to the Prince who collection of Insects provd very fine his Coleoptera especialy far finer than any I had seen he had a Scarabeus Jupiter which differd however from Mr Drurys in having the whole of its hard wings spread over with a white powder his Lepidoptera were not so
