long table lookd at drawings which were handed from one to another   upon the whole I cannot sure that the collection in any degree answerd my expectation
                     
in the Course of this night I had much conversation with Mr May about the duch custom of salting their timber   he assurd me that for 30 years since that practise was first began the States had not had any repairs upon the vessels in that manner managd that the timbers & planks were salted as they were put in by holes bord about a foot deep in large peices & proportionaly less in smaller ones which were continualy kept full of salt & said that in the time of building a ship the largest timber would be salt quite through

March 1 Went this morn to see Mr Myers [Myeers] collection which we found pretty large but not equal to Mr Vandermeulens [Adam Francois ven der Meulen]  he had some few good shells a specimen of Red Coral in spirits with the animals sticking out in high perfection & one specimen of Papilio Priemus
                   
 we dind with the younger Mr Bosiel & after dinner went to the house of Burmanney
