The motto of Lloyd George is no longer “Help for Belgium”, but “Crushing of Prussian militarism”; the times and goals have changed. Belgium has become a side issue, it’s now a fight for survival and a new slogan is needed to talk the English people into a final battle. Only the future can tell the outcome.
