Nov 2nd H.M.S. "Defence" arrived and anchors a few chains from us the Captain of the "Defence" send their band on board of us to cheer us up a bit with their music
Nov 4th Action takes place off Coronel on the West Coast in which the "Good Hope" and "Monmouth" were sunk the "Glasgow" and "Otranto" also took part they were ordered to withdraw and managed to get clear under cover of darkness The "Canopus" was on her way up to join Admiral Cradock but was too far away at the time to be of any use she recieved a wireless
