Oct 5th Come up with the H.M.S. "Glasgow". Capt Luce in command at this particular time the "Karlshrue" was hiding nor far off we exchange signals with "Glasgow" who joins with "Macedonia" and heads for Pernambuco.
Oct 6th. British tramp steamer "Drumcliffe" of Liverpool boarded, every ship sighted was chased to get particular's to give her instructions if she was British as to the course to take etc. and gather any information.
Oct 7th. Sighted small island at day break in the distance it resembled a ship Guns were swung out ship cleared for action closer observation of course our mistake we circle the Island and continue on our journey
