March 10th Sight Collier at 6.30 pm stop for a while and proceed to an anchorage in "Santa Maria" Bay near Maranto

March 11th Start coaling from Collier "Ariel"

Mch 12th Finish Coaling 680 tons taken in we leave for Abrohlos Rocks.

March 22nd Arrive at Abrohlos Rocks "Vindictive" "Glasgow" "Edinburgh Castle" and two Colliers at anchor. Start coaling mails brought on board.

March 23rd Still Coaling the American Cruiser "Tennessee" sighted on horizon she is making a world voyage she is heading for Rio de Janeiro finish Coaling 938 tons, taken in. Boat races held during the afternoon the "Vindictive" is shortly to go home they  are waiting a relief they are 14 months out they have been laying at anchor practically the whole time

March 25th "Glasgow" leaves for Falklands to meet the "Kent" who is going across to Capetown

March 29th We leave for "Bahia" the second coastal town of Brazil. We are to take on stores etc, we leave at 6 p.m.
