we lost no time in getting into range of her No sooner had the Glasgow fired  ours went off in quick succession the "Kent" was coming in from the west a good distance off she was all out sending up volumes of smoke and showing steam at all waste steam pipes she looked as if she was on fire when she got in range she let the "Dresden" have a few on the Starboard side  out of 24  shots fired by the "Kent" only about 6 hit the target the Glasgow did some good shooting nearly all her shots went home on For'd [Forward] Port side we got several hits on After Port Quarter one of our shots nearly lifted one of the after guns out of its seat within 8 minutes down came her ensign and up went the White Flag at least it was ready in a ball at the mast head they only had to shake it out. The Bay where she was laying is situated on the N.E.[North-east] corner of the Island. she had been there for 3 days. The Shooting Commenced at a range of 10,200 yds. finishing at 9800 yds. every shot from the "Glasgow" and "Orama" went home judging by the way she was battered  She was shown no mercy as we
