Jan 15th Arrive a "Callao" there was great excitement among the Crews of the Interned German boats interned in port we also received a great reception from the Peruvian Navy, who sport 3 ships and two antiquated types of submarines we take in some stores no mail yet arrived

Jan 16th Saturday Leave Callao Join "Kent" proceed to San Nicholas Bay where all boats passing are easily discerned   coal ship while "Kent" acts as guard ship.

Jan 17th Sunday Church and Muster everybody has a wash and brush up for these occasions the ceremony is carried out with all attendant solemnity in the afternoon late make collier fast  to get a flying  start at coaling on the morrow. during the day we saw several objects moving about on shore miles from nowhere as they Came Closer we found they were 3 men and pack mules evidently
