It is a great relief to have a few strangers on board at times

Nov 6th. In the dog watch a "Pampero" is sighted Coming in the direction of the ship  one of the ships boats [from the "Pampero"?] is out sailing they are caught in the thick of it   we have to pull up anchor and go to their assistance it took us nearly to 2 hours manouevring to get them on the lee side of the ship they were like drowned rats when they were brought on board.

Nov 13th Put out to sea to intercept the Pacific Companys mail steamer "Orila" One of air our Officers goes on board to go to Monte Video, is brought out again and picked up at Rendezvous.

Nov 16th Arrival of "Edinburgh Castle" to relieve us.

Nov 24th. Put in to "Monte Video" for mails leave our Engineer Commander who is invalided home call back to Edinburgh Castle then leave for Abrohlos via "Rio de Janerio

Nov 30th. Arrived Rio de Janerio the great rival to Sydney Harbour On entering the Ingl Sugarloaf Point stands sentry with the Corcovado mountains
