Dec28th Left for Valparaiso Came up with Chilian gun boat the Esmeralda also Pacific Mail steamer who signals that she has a mail for us but alas the sea is too rough to transfer them
Dec 29th Pass the H.M.A.S. "Australia" where the Action between the Germans and "Goodhope" and "Monmouth" were sunk all men were mustered and a volley fired of the watery Graves of the British Jack Tars. We hope they get their rewards, Brave fellows.
