Dec 7th "Presidente" leaves for Home via St Vincent, Cape Verde Islands. we wish them a safe trip

Jan 1st [1916] Meanwhile we were laying at Anchor in the River on a Splendid fishing ground fish were in abundance an enormous quantity of fish of high quality were landed it was a common thing to see 200 lines hanging over the side in the Dog watches, We receive word from St Vincent that the British Govt is returning the "Presidente Mitre" conditionally to the Argentine It seems it was done merely to firighten them. "The Edinburgh Castle" arrives just out from home

Jan 30th we have had some long spells at anchor just now today a cricket match has been arranged for us ashore we play and win.
