May 26th "Newcastle" arrives back with Collier after being refitted and docked at "Esquimalt". Newcastle being senior ship takes over the reins from our Captain. We are commencing to think that it is about time we were sent for an Overhaul Our Condenser are in a bad condition there is not a week passes that they have to be examined for leaky tubes some 500 are already plugged up
May 27th start coaling in morning "Newcastle" leaves for Callao.
