Before we left all ships had their orders should they get separated there were appointed places of rendez-vous. All wireless messages were to be stopped. The "Invincible"  taking the lead out had her signal halyards packed with flags as many as they could pile on which were the final orders. The "Orana" follows after them in charge of the 9 colliers and store ships, there was 54000 tons of coal, and one oil tank steamer which surprised many of us how she behaved she was a very small tub used on the Canadian lakes, on the journey we had to supply her with provisions and fresh water one rough day too rough to launch a boat we floated the provisions to them on a raft made for the purpose, a terrific storm occurred when we were about 300 miles from Port Stanley, we lost all the convoy who could not keep the course, while searching for them the next day we sighted the "Carnarvon" who gave us the glad news of the sinking of the German fleet at Falklands. we make
