Oct 20th Meet H.M.S "Bristol" off Cape Frio coming from "Rio de Janerio" with mails for us we leave and go south to act as guard ship for River Plate stop a French ship just off Maldonado they get the wind up and make in shorewards as we draw near we notice that there is confusion on board. They took us for a Hun Raider we signaled them they were that excited, that they had three attempts to hoist the correct reply. After boarding her she was allowed to proceed.
