Feb 12th and 13th. Coal ship 1300 tons put in from Collier "Trevanion" which leaves for home as she Cast off her crew give us three Hearty Cheers. our Crew return the Compliment and wish them safe trip home

Feb 15th Crews picked up from the various departments start practising for a regatta to try conclusions against the "Kent's" crews.

Feb 16th Regatta Day glorious day and good sport excitement intense very close finishes Kent oneĀ 6 to 4 events.

Feb 17th Prepare to leave for Valparaiso just before leaving we noticed two small boats in the distance they came up along side they looked like Indians or some kind of half breed's their boats were laden with skins One chap came on board who could speak Spanish he said they were hungry they were given provisions in return for which they gave the Captain
