IV B. In a letter to Sir W. Macarthur dated July 25, 1877, W. Campbell wrote that he enclosed a 
few samples of wool taken from the best of the "pure" thorough bred Camden merinos.'

This letter will be found in A2964, pp. 266-9.

The samples inserted here were not found with the correspondence when the Macarthur Papers were transferred to the Mitchell Library, but were among some miscellaneous items.
