I shall content myself with observing, that every precaution should be taken to preserve the sheep from dust, & rain until they are shorn, & that the fleeces should be perfectly dry before the shearing takes place. As fast as they are clipping the coarse and stained locks should be removed, and as much of the extraneous substances contained in them, as possible, by shaking or beating them over a wire screen. They should immediately, if possible, be "thrown" into sorts - and put into bags not more than 200lbs should be packed into bags of the usual type
