Glückstrunn is situated at the foot of one of the last ridges of the Thuringian Mountains.

It is in the Duchy of Saxe Meiningen. The Duke of Meiningen has a Summer residence near this called "Altenstein" (high sock) the name of the Mountain, and an extensive Agricultural Establishment, which he is the director of, and so successfully, that, although he only undertook the Management last year, and began with several expensive improvements in the buildings, he
