Oct 20th After a prolonged state owing to unavoidable delays and the trouble over the sinking of the "Dresden" in neutral territory the "Kent" "Glasgow" & "Orama" were debarred from the patrol of the West Coast of America the Foreign Office apologised to the Chilian Government they were quite proud and overlooked the Breech of Neutrality on the condition that the three boats are removed. we have orders to proceed via Auckland & Cape Horn to Falklands to Abrohlos Rocks as our destination and to join what is called the South Eastern Patrol.
Oct 24th Arrived at Auckland in a heavy rainstorm the day being 8 hour day and public holiday the ship Could not be coaled.
Oct 26th Left Auckland for Falklands via Chatham Island on a Southerly course
Oct 27th Two Wednesdays in one week coming from one Hemisphere and entering another Chatham Island sighted in the distance
Nov 1st Anniversary of the sinking of the "Dresden" "Goodhope" and "Monmouth"
