It seems our mission to the Island is to ascertain how a party from the British Museum are faring they left England in a small vessel for Easter Island to study & trace the Origin of the Carvings and huge Monoliths that are on the island we found they had left for home the Parties on shore were taken and shewn the Monoliths which are renowned in Archeology. The Crews of the sailing ships that were captured by the "Prinz Eitel Frederick" were landed on the Island. they have been since all taken off the Island and sent home one man a Frenchman could not be persuaded to leave he had fallen in love with the "Kanaka Queen" of the Island and married her. The Island is very fertile and supports about 100 people
July 24th Arrive at Auckland stay only a few hours and leave for Sydney
Aug 1st Arrive in state and proceed to farm Farm Cove and tie up to No 1 Buoy.
