Dec 30th "Kent" leaves for "Coronel"
Dec 31st "Kent" returns at 4pm from Coronel
Jan 2nd Join up with H.M.S. Newcastle off Valparaiso, we put in to Valparaiso take on stores 14 tons of meat & 10 tons of potatoes we have had no potatoes for week's there are 27 German ships interned in Port including the "Yorck" that escaped from Sydney N.S.W. a number of men were taken of the Interned ships by "Von Spee" and distributed among his fleet. Our ship caused a lot of visitors from shore to take a trip out and have a look at our her from their rowboats, no one allowed on shore in fact there is no one except the Captain been ashore as yet.
Jan 3rd Met "Kent" & Colliers outside Valparaiso at 8 a.m. proceed towards Coquimbo
