My dear Judge
Need Well you know how sorry I was to hear of Arthur's death; please accept what you know if felt by everyone connected with the [indecipherable]. My sincerest sympathy
I shall always look back with pleasure on my meeting with your boy that early morning last August. His battalion had just landed, everything was moved & they were under desultory fire, yet he was quite calm & happy only anxious to look after the many little needs of his particular platoon. Only last Monday I was looking at a photo of Arthur & my nephew Will Addison, they shared the same cabin going from Alexandria. Both have fallen when an Australian & a brave man would desire to die – at the head of his men.
I am leaving on Friday for France by the [indecipherable] so donot worry to answer this but you can rely on me to report any little bit of news about either of the boys which I know would interest you.
Yours very sincerely
Chas. H . Addison
