The Australian soldier who ultimately reaches the trenches in France is pretty complete in his work these days.
When a man arrives here first from Australia he is allowed 4 Day's leave in London or anywhere in England for that matter.
After that he is expected to settle down earnestly to work with only occasional weekends off.
The men are smartening up wonderfully well – they knuckle down to the strict discipline required of them for work on the Western Front – very well.
