I think we ought to make more of a business of the whole thing and when we go to war act on a prearranged plan whereby certain people are detailed for work at the peaceful end and are automatically released by those coming back from the other end. This would so away with the large numbers of returned wankers (both officers and men) who on the strength of a slight wound manage to get half a Year's leave and the CMD instead of doing something useful.
This war has taught me many things and if I live to get through it I hope to assist in putting these things into their proper view place. I believe the number of people who get jobs at the back of the trenches us appalling and not one of these jobs made
