No bon = no good, nah poo & (Il n'y a plus) – no more a "finish" and there you are. The Frenchies themselves have dropped into this soldier slang. Of course, I often have yarns, and now and them inform some belated revellers that one of the "habitants" explains they have cassed his fenetres – trois vitres – about Fr50, and that consequently their C.O. will see them in the morning. But on the whole our coves are as good as any, they have plenty to think about these days, besides larks, poor blokes, but are always amusing, doesn't matter what they have been through, they take everything for granted, and if there is nothing else to argue about – the old one – Whizz bangs – V – Crumps is revived.
Oh, well, old boy son, must finish, mail leaves here for D.H.C. this evening. Pretty quiet to-day, round us at anyrate. My regards to any pals you meet.
Yours
Affectionately
Geoff
