By now you know that Keith got here all right – He was awfully cheered by your cable - and so was I Ferguson – for at times I wonder if for us who remain and are not going [indecipherable] well if it is really necessary to "Carry on" - I am glad to hug yr words to my heart and think that if we [indecipherable] such sons as ours we too "haven't lived in vain".
I have overworked myself. Got Earache – postnasal Catarrh and now my game leg has got very bad again so I came here to rest – to go in a submarine, and to fly a seaplane – I hope to go in a submarine on Monday. Two months ago we had a fine sight of a Zepplin raid – It was lovely to see the shells bursting around the swine but she got away – I liked looking at the sight but it was at 2 am and I suddenly remembered how cold it was, so tore off to wrap up – and when I came back the cursed thing was out of sight. – However I daresay I'll have another chance as there were two raids here last week.
