My Dear Judge
Am quite fit and well. Have been kept going pretty well lately but am enjoying most of it. The weather so far has been very good. We have had just enough rain to demonstrate how very comfortable it will be when it does start. There has been a tremendous amount of work done about here. Anywhere near the trenches the saps for miles are "duckboards" which means that two long pieces of timber are laid down with drains between them and battens nailed across of the top about two inches apart so that unless the rain is very heavy you walk for miles over the water instead of in it The trenches are also all duckboarded & well drained so if we stay where we are we should be fairly comfortable.
The parcel supply seems to keep up pretty constantly and the regular shipments from Cadburys is arriving all correct. It is very welcome. I don't think I shall
