by a perfect rush, the agitators being amongst the first to hand over and the consequence was that by 9 pm we had the 741 all ashore & quite happy.

The quarters here are splendid and the rations all that can be desired, the white bread made us stare & oh the toast – but for all the care people are taking for us & themselves – every ship now will go out to dear old Blighty filled with wheat, beef, & butter, and I presume wool – at Freemantle there were piles of wheat waiting for shipment. We go aboard our old hooker on Sunday Evening & arrive at the Pier in Melbourne at Daybreak, the other men from South Australia, Queensland & N.S.W. go on
