& clapped for more but I sat down. The deck we held our concert was like an oven & at last I escaped on to our promenade deck & had a seat & a smoke, the moon was bright and the sea glorious so I sat & thought & dreamt of all the pleasures that had passed.
Friday 18th [10.18]
Weather cool & fresh wind blowing sea getting up & as we are very light in weight the ship is like a cat on red hot bricks, have had to slow down as they will not let us go into Durban after daylight. Another beautiful night.
