The C.O.[Commanding Officer] of the Boat – Major Higgins late of Hd [Head] Quarters Tidworth has asked me to take in hand the organisation of Sports & Concerts so am preparing things but at present can do nothing in this weather.
Today the Aux[iliary] Cruiser sent us a long telegram about the War and the good news has caused us to feel quite happy.
Several of us retire to our Cabins immediately after meals & smoke & talk or else read until one falls asleep. I'm always sleeping now – every afternoon & night. Have cut out afternoon tea
