laughter & thus saved further trouble – the worst of it is that the lads always look to the old Colonel or Dad to help them but as Higgins has taken over command again I'm simply a passenger now.

I suppose we are all getting very tired & livery over this trying & long voyage not having been off the boat for now nearly six weeks.

Saturday 26th Oct[ober 1918]
Weather boisterous & sea rough boat rolling about like a drunken man, it is also much colder no good to me this cold after being so hot lately. Had a few games at Bridge but had bad luck. Nothing else to mention.
