Weather fine – fresh breeze – sunset very fine – Usual Communion & Church Services – Collection at C[hurch] of E[ngland] £2-12-0 R[oman] C[atholic] 11/- (out of 80 present at latter). Inspection not on this morning.
Monday 7/10/18
Weather is fine sea smooth. Had fairly heavy work in Orderly Room about 12 men brought up for neglect of duty also one Officer. Rubbed it in pretty strong to Officer & men fined several of the latter (4 bad wretches). Inspected the Officer on Guard at 2 a.m. & returned to bed at 3 a.m. Fancy while I write this at 8.15 pm having finished dinner about a quarter of an hour, we are at the same time as at
