I got up a Boxing Tournament on the ship and we had the first lot of fights this afternoon some were pretty willing between the sailors & soldiers – one lot was between 2 Red headed fellows they made a comic show of it and the on lookers screaming with laughter.
It looks as if I'm to be O.C. [Officer Commanding] until we leave the Cape – Higgins does not feel strong enough to take over yet but by jove he will have to do so next Monday he asked for the job & he can keep it. Quite a cold wind blowing tonight.
