Weather very cold sea calm it is quite an exception to travel down this part without heavy seas but our luck appears to be in. The Albertross's are still flying with us, wonder how they sleep, they go round the ship with scarcely a movement of their wings, some times they rest on the water to pick up some refuse thrown overboard but soon pick us up again – expect they will not leave us until we go into the Heads of Melbourne Harbour. I nearly won the sweep on the ship run today, I backed 287 knots for the 24 hours but she did only 285 so the four pounds did not reach me.
